Fuji musician Saheed Osupa has paid a short tribute to the late veteran musician Sikiru Ayinde Barrister.
The 51-year-old posted a video of himself on Instagram on Monday reciting the lyrics of one of Ayinde’s songs which he said was a snippet of the deceased that lives in him.
Saheed Osupa described Ayinde as one who was wonderful, excellent and adorable, adding that he is worthy of worship “for all his extraordinary creative explorations.”
He wrote: “A snippet of the Late Alhaji Agba Sikiru Ayinde Barrister that lives in me… Unarguably, Mr. Fuji was wonderful, he was excellent and adorable. Baba is worthy of worship, for all his extraordinary creative explorations. May Baba’s soul Continue to rest in peace. Happy New Month, Fam.”
Ayinde, aged 62, died on December 16, 2010. He was well known for creating fuji music from were music.
He released records under the label African Songs Ltd before starting his own label Siky-Oluyole Records.
His popular record Reality was released in 2004.
Ayinde Barrister earned so many notable awards during his lifetime and music career however, the most significant is the conferment of the honor of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) by the then President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2006, President Olusegun Obasanjo.
