The board and editors of online newspaper, DAYLIGHT, have announced Sunday, May 22 as date for the maiden edition of its Daylight Annual Leadership Awards (DALA).
Expected to hold amid glitz and glamour at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, the ceremony opens with a green and white carpet at 4.pm prompt with paparazzi in abundance.
A statement issued Wednesday by DAYLIGHT Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Azuh Amatus, who is also the Founder and Chairman of DALA, says the aim of the awards is to recognise, reward and celebrate excellence among Nigerians who have excelled tremendously in various leadership positions.
“This year, the board and editors of DAYLIGHT Newspaper in collaboration with our awards committee have carefully selected 15 outstanding Nigerians who have excelled immensely in their various leadership positions, from a pool of over 100 names, for this revered recognition and well deserved honour,” Amatus said.
Shedding more light, the publisher added that DALA is basically an appreciation of the awardees’ giant contributions and unmatched developmental strides in Nigeria.
“These DALA honourees are leading role models that have equally aided national growth and development with their leadership roles and God’s given talents.
“In the coming days, we will unveil these honourees, their respective categories and other scintillating activities lined up for the forthcoming awards already serenaded the entire nation.
Interestingly, as a holistic recognition platform, the glamorous and media presence-filled awards ceremony has been strategically planned as part of the several national events/activities commemorating Democracy Day in Nigeria,” he continued.
DALA, which slogan is “celebrating excellence in leadership,” in the words of its organisers, is a strictly by invitation awards ceremony and promises to be glamorous in all ramifications.
