First lady Aisha Buhari on Wednesday congratulated Princess Abiola Dosumu on her coronation as the Yeye Oodua and Queen Mother of the House of Oduduwa.
Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi on Monday decorated the Erelu Kuti of Lagos with the new traditional title.
Other royal fathers who were present were the Oniru of Iru land, Oba Abdulwasiu Lawal; and the Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom, Oba Saheed Elegushi.
Mrs Buhari wished the Yeye Oodua bliss in her reign.
“I congratulate HRH, Erelu Abiola Dosunmu as she crowned the Yeye Oodua and Queen Mother of the House of Oduduwa by the Arole Ooduwa, HIM, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ooni of Ile Ife,” she said in an Instagram post.
“May your reign as Yeye be a blessing to the Yoruba Land and Nigeria at large.”
The installation ceremony had socialites, businessmen and women and politicians in attendance.
Wife of Lagos State governor Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Rivers State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Tonye Cole; and actress Hilda Dokubo were present.
Also at the classy event was oil mogul and former presidential aspirant Tein Jack-Rich and his wife Elizabeth; Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, real estate magnate Olu Okeowo and businesswoman Bola Shagaya.
Award-winning fashion designer Sisi Abah Folawiyo, who held a grand event to mark her 80th birthday on July 22, also graced the occasion.
