Actress Monalisa Chinda has mourned filmmaker Otu Njama.
Otu’s death was announced by media personality Shaibu Husseini on Wednesday morning.
He wrote: “He sent me a formal invitation for his much anticipated ‘Sweet Mother Concert’ yesterday and followed it up with a call for my attendance and coverage of the event at 1pm yesterday.
“The show holds tomorrow but this morning we heard that the filmmaker of ‘Inhibition’ fame Otu Njama is DEAD! ’02’, in his early thirties reportedly died early today.
Reacting in the comment section of the post, Monalisa Chinda wrote: “Totally dumbfounded.”
Another actor Charles Inojie added, “Otu Njama? What is going on?”
According to reports, Otu was found dead at his residence in Badore, Ajah, Lagos State.
His sister Judith revealed that a drug was found in his apartment and a check on google showed it was for blood pressure. She stated that her brother never told her about his health issues.
The late filmmaker celebrated his 36th birthday on November 14, 2021.
Otu produced and directed the hit movie Inhibition in 2019. He also produced the TV series One Night Stand.
