Pastor Samuel Ishola Akindele, father of actor Seun Akindele, has been buried at the new Ikoyi Christain Cementary in Lagos.
Photos and videos of the burial ceremony were uploaded on social media on Friday.
The burial rites began on Thursday with a wake-keep ceremony that was held in the Ilupeju area of Lagos.
The event was attended by friends and well-wishers of the deceased.
Seun announced his dad’s death in an Instagram post on July 7.
“Sleep well my dearly beloved dad. May your gentle soul continue to rest in peace. Love you dad with my whole hea rt,” he wrote.
The late pastor died at the age of 85.
Seun got married to his wife Toun on July 9, 2016, surrounded by their families and Nollywood stars including Iyabo Ojo, Mary Lazarus, Peggy Ovire, Moyo Lawal, Empress Njamah and Lancelot Imasuen.
Seun’s acting credits include Nation Under Siege, Being Mrs Elliot, Dazzling Mirage, Daddy Yo and The Banker.
