Rapper Ice Prince has been released on bail from the Ikoyi correctional facility after spending about six nights in prison.
His lawyer, Folarin Dalmeida said Ice Prince was released from the Nigerian correctional centre in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Thursday.
According to Dalmeida, the ‘Oleku’ star was released on Thursday after the court certified that he has met the bail conditions.
“His bail conditions have been met, and he was released yesterday,” he said.
The rapper’s trial was billed to start on Wednesday at the magistrate court sitting in the Ajah area of Lagos.
But the court adjourned the case till October 24 after the prosecution counsel said his witnesses did not show up.
The 35-year-old is being tried on a three-count charge bordering on assault, obstructing a policeman from carrying out its statutory duties, and abduction.
The court had earlier granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 and asked him to provide two sureties.
Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin had disclosed that the rapper was arrested for driving without license plates.
Hundeyin claimed Ice Prince assaulted and threatened to throw an officer in his car into the river.
