Gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has celebrated her one-month wedding anniversary with her husband Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa.
The 31-year-old posted photos of the couple on Instagram on Tuesday saying that getting married is the best decision she has ever made after giving her life to Christ.
Mercy who appears seemingly unbothered about the criticism over the public display of her marital affairs said she cannot contain her joy and excitement.
She wrote: “I can’t contain my JOY and EXCITEMENT. It’s One month already with my Gee. Forever to go. After Christ, the best decision I ever made. A man filled with so much grace and truth. You are the Evidence that I am indeed Blessed I Love Love Love you SWEET @theofficialblessed.”
On her 31st birthday celebration on September 5, Mercy’s husband surprised her with a Toyota SUV.
In a video posted on Instagram, Mercy could be seen screaming and jumping on her husband excitedly. The ‘Testimony’ singer could not hold back her emotions as she was seen crying over the gift while her husband hugged and planted kisses on her face.
Captioning the video he posted, Blessed wrote: “Congratulations baby. Mercy Chinwo I love.”
The Nigerian Idol winner also rushed to Instagram to share photos of the new car, thanking her husband for the gift.
She wrote: “I got the best gift ever. Y’all please help me thank my husband tell him I sent you. Thank you sweet.”
Celebrating Mercy in an earlier post, Blessed, a senior pastor at the Water Brooks Church in Lagos, shared photos of his wife on Instagram on Monday, saying she is the physical evidence of his blessings.
Blessed thanked her for being his “wife, best friend and sister,” promising to stand by her no matter the weather.
He wrote: “Happy 31st birthday to my queen, @mercychinwo my reward from God and the physical evidence that I’m blessed! The fulfillment of a prophecy! The spoken word of God made flesh. The wife of the priesthood! My safe place, my joy and peace.
Mercy and Blessed Uzochikwa tied the knot traditionally in Port Harcourt on Friday, August 12. The white wedding which was held on Saturday was attended by families and friends of the couple including Banky W and Adesua Etomi.”
