Gospel singer Tope Alabi has responded to a request by Afrobeat singer BNXN also known as Buju to collaborate with him on the latter’s debut album.
Buju made the request in a Twitter post on Monday, saying that he needs the gospel singer on his album.
“I need Tope Alabi on my album,” he wrote with a crying emoji.
The tweet sparked mixed reactions on social media. While some supported his choice to collaborate with the Yoruba gospel artiste, other said he has no business doing a gospel.
However, in a recent post on Twitter, Buju shared his conversation with Tope who said she was willing to collaborate with him “by the grace of God.”
“By the grace of God,” Tope wrote.
“Amen,” Buju responded.
Buju was announced the winner of the Next Rated category at the 2022 Headies Award ceremony held last two Sundays in Atlanta, United States of America.
Speaking after the win, the singer formerly born Daniel Benson dedicated the award to his mum who died of cancer.
“I want to thank God he is the reason I’m here, he is the reason I’ve been able to come this far. I dedicate this to my mum, she died of breast cancer this is for you mummy, this is for my family, this is for my management.”
Buju also dedicated the award to fellow nominees Ayra Starr and Ruger.
