Actor Emeka Amakeze has knocked his colleague Benedict Johnson for declaring support for All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu on behalf of the movie industry.
Benedict stated this during a recent visit to the Tinubu in Abuja alongside Zack Orji, Saidi Balogun, Foluke Daramola and others.
The actor assured the former Governor of Lagos State that the entire Nollywood is solidly behind him.
“With your combination, I don’t think there is any defence that can stand them, sir, we the Nollywood, from Kannywood to Yorubahood and Igbohood are here today sir to tell you that they are hundred percent behind you,” Benedict said.
Reacting to the statement in an Instagram post, Emeka Amakeze described his colleague’s statement as embarrassing.
“The audacity of declaring that they represent the entire Nollywood. This is embarrassing,” he wrote.
Earlier in August, a video of Zack Orji and Saidi endorsing Tinubu for president went viral.
The actors said they are supporting Tinubu because they believe he will transform Nigeria’s economy.
On July 21, Saidi Balogun, Zack Orji, Brymo, Gentle Jack, Emma Ehumadu and Benedict Johnson paid a courtesy visit to the presidential aspirant.
The group led by Ahmed Bala represented the Ambassadors of Voice of Change.
The visit was paid weeks after top Yoruba movie stars including Jide Kosoko, Adebayo Salami, also known as Oga Bello, Taiwo Hassan, better known as Ogogo, Faithia Williams, Yinka Quadri, Lanre Hassan, popularly known as Iya Awero, Eniola Ajao, Olaiya Igwe, Foluke Daramola, Femi Adebayo, Shola Kosoko and Murphy Afolabi publicly declared their support for Tinubu.
