Singer Harrison Okiri, popularly known as Harrysong, has accused music executive, Soso Soberekon, of hiring assassins to kill him.
The father of one made this allegation during a recent interview on the Frankly Speaking podcast co-hosted by comedian Nedu Wazobia.
During the podcast, Harrysong called out his colleagues Skibii, Kcee, and Soberekan while speaking about fake friendships in the industry.
The singer said the trio are not his friends as widely assumed. The 41-year-old claimed that despite helping Skibii and Kcee during their “trying times,” they still “betrayed” him.
He also alleged that Soberekan sent people to assassinate him in Port Harcourt, adding that he has evidence.
“In the industry 90% of all the friendships are fake. I heard about cultism when I was in secondary school so I got the orientation, but now in the industry, they use cultism to brag. People wey you think say get respect, wey humble like Skibii. He stayed in my house, I clothed and fed him,” he said in a mixture of pidgin and English.
“I left my Egbeda house to come and work with Kcee. Kcee fit dey sleep I go dey write, record, do everything for am. Kcee came to Balogun bus stop to beg me to write for him and I did because I believe in him, I was the one that begged Del B to believe in Kcee. But after the whole thing, he blew up that I needed to at least fend for myself because I don live my own life for you, he no gree me to go.
“Even Skibii that stayed in the house I rented, insulted my wife and I when I carry am go my wedding for Warri. Say because him don join cult and dey do juju and people dey see them as my friends. He insulted me and my wife on my wedding day.
“There are people I have been working with for years and if you say their names, you would say na Harry guy be dis, but them no be my guy, as a matter of fact, those are my real enemies. If you see Soso now you will say na my friend.
“Soso is not my friend, he is my enemy, he wants to kill me. He sent people to come and kill me in Port Harcourt no jokes. I have evidence, videos and pictures.”
Harrysong wedded his sweetheart Alex Gopa on March 27, with Skiibii serving as his best man.
The couple welcomed their first child in December 2021.
