Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) Omoyele Sowore has criticised the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) for not inviting him to its annual conference held in Lagos in August.
Mr Sowore spoke on Wednesday at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria’s 52nd annual conference in Abuja.
“I want to thank the leadership of ICAN for demonstrating better judgement than the Nigerian Bar Association who did not invite the rest of us,” he said.
Sowore also called out the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu for not attending the conference despite being invited.
Neither Tinubu nor the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar was present at the conference.
Other presidential candidates present were Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Prof. Christopher Imulomen of the Accord Party and Prof. Peter Umeadi of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
Vice-presidential candidate of the PDP, Ifeanyi Okowa, represented Atiku, while the vice-presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Bishop Isaac Idahosa represented candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso.
