Businesswoman and socialite Bola Shagaya on Sunday gathered family and friends for the eighth day fidau prayer for her late mother Saadat Abdulraheem Baakini.
Shagaya’s mum died on October 8 in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
The fidau prayer held on Sunday at Atlantic Event Centre in Ilorin.
Several high-profile personalities including the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu; and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq have commiserated with Shagaya and Baakini family over the incident.
In a statement issued on October 9 by AbdulRazaq’s chief press secretary Rafiu Ajakaye, the governor said that the family should take solace in the exemplary life lived by their mother as a true servant of God.
“Our heartfelt condolences go to Hajia Bola Shagaya, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Abdulraheem and the entire Bakini family of Ilorin emirate.
“We pray Allah, exalted is He, to grant Alhaja Al-jannah Firdaus and comfort the entire family,” he said.
