Presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi on Wednesday morning paid a visit to Baze University Hospital in Abuja owned by his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed.
Mr Obi was shown around by Baba-Ahmed. He also met some of the university’s staff.
Obi said that medical tourism would be a thing of the past if medical facilities in Nigeria have equipment such as those at Baze University Hospital.
“This morning, I had the privilege of visiting the Baze University Hospital in Abuja and inspecting the facilities. Dr Datti Baba-Ahmed was on hand to show me around,” Obi tweeted.
“This institution is exemplary and reflective of a centre of excellence, and what domestic entrepreneurs and investors can contribute to nation-building. With several more facilities like this, medical tourism for Nigerians will be a thing of the past. This is simply awesome.”
The visit is Obi’s first to Baze University Hospital since he chose Baba-Ahmed as running mate.
