Kolapo Akande, brother-in-law to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has died at the age of 72.
Akande was married to Senator Tinubu’s sister, Lola Akande, who is currently the Lagos State commissioner for commerce, industry and cooperatives.
Akande died on Wednesday night, according to close sources.
The deceased was said to have been sick for some time from an undisclosed ailment.
Akande’s death came few days after the All Progressives Congress in Lagos lost two prominent persons.
First was the death of an APC lawmaker at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Abdulsobur Olawale, who slumped and died in Jos during the party’s presidential campaign flag-off.
Another chieftain of the APC in Lagos, Juliana Awodogan, popularly known as Iya Oniyan died the same day as Olawale.
The woman, who was in her 70s died at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Lagos on Tuesday after protracted illness.
