Music video director TG Omori has reacted to rumours about collecting 20 million naira from gospel singer Austine Emmanuel to shoot the music video of his viral song ‘You Dey Whine Me’.
Omori started trending on Twitter after announcing the music video shoot on the platform on Saturday.
“Shey you dey whine me shoot day with my bro,” he wrote with a photo of himself and Emmanuel inside a boat.
Reacting to the tweet, a user identified as Abuja Talkative claimed Omori charged the singer 20 million for the shoot.
He wrote: “So this guy paid 20m for this video? Shey you dey whine me ni?”
“Clowning, you must have missed when he tweeted that he was going to do the video and they should make a deal,” another user identified as Love Nemesis added.
Responding to the claim, the music video director who knocked the tweep, added that there was no deal or percentage involved because he personally loves the song and wants to have fun.
“Shut up slow head. We got No deal no percentage. I personally Loved the song n We just out here having fun,” he wrote.
Emmanuel has become a viral sensation since he put out the indigenous song.
The song became popular due to the “Shey you dey whine me?” phrase which many have continued to use in creating funny videos on TikTok.
Omori has directed music videos for several top artistes including Olamide, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Kiss Daniel, Fireboy, and Naira Marley.
