Actress Juliana Olayode has penned down a lovely message to her senior colleague Funke Akindele after attending the latter’s Battle on Buka Street premiere.
The film, directed by Funke, premiered in Lagos on Sunday, with celebrities like Iyabo Ojo, Sola Sobowale, Mercy Johnson, Ruth Kadiri, Nkem Owoh, Nkechi Blessing, Peter Okoye and Regina Chukwu gracing the event in their traditional attires.
After the premiere Juliana took to Instagram on Monday to share a video of her outfit to the event. She also showered praises on Funke for the latter’s contribution to developing and discovering young talents.
The former Jenifa’s Diary actress described Funke as a culture shaper, who is constantly paving way for the youths.
She wrote: “My look to the premiere of the @battleonbukastreet yesterday a true masterpiece movie. Can we take a moment to appreciate the amazing aunty @funkejenifaakindele a true cuture shaper, constanty creating ways for the youth and paving the way for others at every opportunity she has. I’m genuinely so proud of aunty @funkejenifaakindele for creating this masterpiece. Cannot wait to watch it again on the 16th of December 2022.”
The Lagos-born actress gained popularity after featuring as Toyosi aka Toyo Baby in Funke Akindele’s comedy series Jenifa’s Diary.
The 27-year-old, however, fell out with Funke in 2017 after she demanded an increase in her fee which was said to be N3,000 per episode back then.
That led to her exit from the show and a strained relationship with Funke.
