Simon Ekpa, the self-acclaimed disciple of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has declared the five-day sit-at-home in the south-east over.
He announced this in a video posted on YouTube on Wednesday night.
According to Ekpa, the five-day sit-at-home was “historic and successful”. But the exercise which was countered by Kanu’s other representatives did not record total compliance, resulting in bloody clashes.
In his caption for the YouTube video, Ekpa said the 2023 elections will not hold in the south-east.
“To end Nigeria in 2023 is a task that must be done! There will be no general election in Biafraland in 2023, it is a sacrifice and a task that must be done by all Biafrans across the globe.

The IPOB has since dissociated itself from the five-day sit-at-home.
As of Thursday morning, over 2,000 people have signed a petition calling for Ekpa’s arrest. They are appealing to the Finnish government, Nigerian government and the European Union to effect same as Ekpa is reported to be based in Finland.
They said, “Simon’s action is stirring up bloodbath – a genocide in the region, and innocent women, children, the aged and youths are the victims dying every day.”
