Governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Lagos Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has decried attempts on his life and attacks on his campaign train.
Speaking on the latest attack in Epe, Rhodes-Vivour said on Arise TV on Sunday, “There have been lots of threats. We have gotten a lot of intel about potential assassination attempts on my life. Yes, it happened in Epe.
“We had Honourable Wale Oluwo with us and we also had Honourable Najid of the PDP working with us and they were also shot at in Epe yesterday (Saturday).”
Explaining further, he said, “As our convoy was moving out, a lot of young men came and tried to block the road, and we could not go in. The police were with us, and it was very important we did not show any force.
“We had the police go in to meet them, and the DSS was also helpful to neutralise the situation, but they did shoot at us and they did try to intimidate us.”
Rhodes-Vivour alleged that the youths who attacked him in Epe were members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
