Minister of state for labour and employment Festus Keyamo has praised Senator Teslim Folarin for congratulating Seyi Makinde on his re-election as Oyo State governor.
Makinde polled 563,756 votes on March 18 to defeat Folarin of APC, who scored 256,685 votes, while Adebayo Adelabu of Accord Party polled 38,357 votes.
On Monday, Folarin congratulated Makinde and appreciated Oyo State voters, APC members and other supportive stakeholders.
He added, “It is God that gives power and takes Power! May Oyo State and our people continue to prosper.”
Folarin’s congratulatory message indicates there will be no litigation from him and the party as per the outcome of the election.
Keyamo, who is also a spokesman for the Tinubu-Shettima Campaign Organisation, on Tuesday hailed Folarin for the gesture, describing it as sportsmanly.
“This is sportsmanship at its peak! Can we have same from PDP and Labour Party at any level?” He tweeted.
Tinubu scored the highest number of votes in Oyo in the February 25 presidential election, a development which made many postulate that Makinde had a secret arrangement with Tinubu.
But the APC in Oyo denied the allegation.
