Businessman and philanthropist Tony Elumelu has arrived in Jerusalem, Israel days after celebrating his 60th birthday.
He announced his arrival on Sunday via Instagram Stories with the caption “Touchdown Jerusalem, Israel.”
Elumelu, who is also chairman of Transcorp, has met with the founder and CEO of OurCrowd John Medvad, a venture capitalist exploring investment opportunities in young African entrepreneurs.
“At the meeting, they explored partnership opportunities to empower additional African entrepreneurs across various sectors of the economy,” Tony Elumelu Foundation said on Instagram.
Elumelu has also met with Israeli minister of foreign affairs Eli Cohen.
They met to advance discussions on a partnership to empower additional African entrepreneurs across Africa, said the foundation.
Elumelu is in Jerusalem with Transcorp president Owen Omogiafo among other top executives of his business chains.
The businessman also visited historical spots in Israel such as the tomb of Jesus Christ and the biblical location known as Golgotha where Jesus was crucified.
