Fuji musician Saheed Osupa on Wednesday shared an old music video in continuation of his mournful mood for his saxophonist Sule Sax.
The 53-year-old shared the video on Instagram the same platform where he announced Sule Sax’s death on Tuesday.
In the video, Saheed says he would sing a melodious song to the sound of the saxophone so that people could dance. He also says he could do so many things with music.
Then Sule Sax begins to play his saxophone.
The singer wrote the lyrics as part of the caption and added, “May Almighty God grant you eternal rest, and let perpetual light shine upon your soul. Rest on SULE SAX.”
A saxophonist known as Olu Jazz wrote in the comment section, “So sad, we lost one of our veteran saxophonists, May God rest his gentle soul, RIP SULE SAX.”
Several actors and actresses including Mr Latin, Yinka Quadri, Seyi Edun, Toyin Adewale and Kemi Ojo have also expressed sadness over the incident.
In December 2019, it was revealed that Sule Sax was hospitalised and in need of a kidney transplant which would cost around N15 million in India.
Saheed raised the alarm, stating that he could not foot the bill alone. He begged for the support of Nigerians and asked the public to come to the aid of one of his trusted hands.
In his Instagram post on Tuesday, Saheed said that Sule Sax, born Abiodun Lasisi, would forever be remembered for his good works.
“This is hard. I am saddened! The memory we shared are numerous, but no amount of words can express my grief at this period!” he said.
