Gospel musician Yinka Ayefele has hosted Florence Ajimobi, widow of the ex-governor of Oyo State Abiola Ajimobi, at Fresh FM in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
Ayefele, on Saturday, shared photos and videos on Instagram of himself receiving Mrs Ajimobi at the radio station.
“Mrs Florence Abiola Ajimobi @ fresh fm 105.9 fm music house in ibadan,” he wrote.
Mrs Ajimobi described him as her “dear brother” when he came out to receive her. She had a live interview at the radio station.
In August 2018, the Ajimobi administration demolished part of Ayefele’s N800 million Music House which also housed Fresh FM.
Spokesman for Fresh FM David Ajiboye wrote on Facebook that the demolition notice was issued because “the staff canteen in the premises was not approved. The spiral staircase was not in the approved plan. The mast was not in the approved plan. The fence was not in the approved plan.”
But it was also alleged that the station was demolished over its programmes which the government found unfavourable.
Four months after the demolition, the Ajimobi administration, however, completed the reconstruction.
Ajimobi died in June 2020 in Lagos following complications arising from COVID-19 infection.
