Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima has paid a visit to the chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Brig. Gen. Muhammed Marwa (retd.) over the latter’s back surgery.

The NDLEA shared photos of the visit on social media on Sunday.

The photos were captioned, “Vice President-Elect, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, with Chairman/Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), when he paid a visit to the latter to commiserate with him over his recent successful back surgery at Marwa’s Asokoro Abuja residence at the weekend.”

In March, Marwa revealed he underwent a surgical operation while addressing journalists after a meeting with some French stakeholders on efforts to fight drug trafficking.

He said he underwent an operation for “long-standing lower back pain” arising from sporting activities during his years in the military.

“Aside from being an avid polo player, I was an active member of the Nigerian Army athletics team in the 1970s when I participated in the long jump and triple jump events and hockey as well,” he was quoted as saying in a statement by NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi.
