Chief executive officer of X3M Ideas Steve Babaeko says Lagos State has been very kind to him and he is indebted to the city.
The 52-year-old advertising and entertainment executive stated this in a social media post on Thursday to mark 28 years of his relocation from Kaduna State to Lagos.
“Exactly 28 years today since that skinny 24-year-old boy (Yup that’s me) moved from Kaduna to the centre of Excellence. Thank you #Lagos, you have been very kind to me, I have learnt some very hard lessons but overall, I feel indebted to this incredible city, which is why I will never stop giving back and doing necessary citizen intervention in every way that I can. So, help me God,” Mr Babaeko wrote.
The theatre art graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria began his career in 1995 with MC&A Saatchi & Saatchi where he worked for five years.
He then moved to Prima Garnet Ogilvy, where he also worked for another five years and 141 Worldwide where he worked for seven years as creative director before leaving in 2012 to set up X3M Ideas.
Married to photographer Yetunde Babaeko, with whom he has three boys, Steve Babaeko is the president of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) and is on the jury of advertising festivals within and outside Nigeria.
