Tayo Ayinde and his associates on Thursday sang in excitement following news that he had been reappointed as Lagos State Governor Babajide’s Sanwo-Olu’s chief of staff.
Mr Ayinde, who lost his wife Doyin last year, was first appointed after Mr Sanwo-Olu’s electoral victory in 2019. His reappointment followed Sanwo-Olu’s hard-fought victory for a second term in office at the March 18 poll.
The governor’s media adviser Gboyega Akosile shared a video of Ayinde and his cronies singing in appreciation to Sanwo-Olu.
“Jubilations as Mr. Tayo Ayinde is re-appointed Chief of Staff to Governor @jidesanwoolu,” he captioned the Instagram video.
Earlier, Mr Akosile announced via Twitter that Sanwo-Olu had reappointed Ayinde and Gboyega Soyannwo as chief of staff and deputy chief of staff respectively.
The governor also appointed Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin as secretary to the state government (SSG).
“Lagos State Governor @jidesanwoolu has approved the appointment of Barrister Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin as secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Tayo Ayinde as Chief of Staff and Mr. Gboyega Soyannwo as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor,” Akosile tweeted.
These are Sanwo-Olu’s first appointments since his inauguration on May 29.
