Nigeria youngster, Kelechi Iheanacho, might only be 19 but has achieved a rare feat that even the very best superstars across Europe has failed to.
Luis Suarez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are undoubtedly the best three in the world at the moment with more than a century of goals between them.
But the much fancied Spanish La Liga trio are distance away from City’s No 72 in terms of goals scored per minutes played thus far.
The Nigerian prodigy is quietly blossoming into a clinical finisher at City, and this was highlighted by his two goals in their 4-0 Premier League win over Stoke on Saturday.
That double took his overall tally to 11 in the season and a stat that sees him crowned as Europe’s deadliest marksman.
Iheanacho can lay claim to being the most prolific goalscorer in Europe’s top five league based on minutes played.
With minute-to-goal ratio of 81.27, Iheanacho stands tall above every other striker in Europe – with his nearest challenger – Barcelona’s forward, Suarez, who has scored 53 times at a minute-to-goal ratio of 83.77.
Real Madrid duo, Ronaldo (47 goals) and Karim Benzema (27), sit third and fourth at 84.21 and 85.93 respectively.
Paris Saint-Germain talisman, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, rounds out the top five with his 42 goals coming every 88.45 minutes.
Messi is eighth in this list with his 40 goals for Barcelona coming every 95.95 minutes, while Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski (38 goals), is 10th at 98.89 with Gareth Bale (18) next at a ratio of a strike every 106.39 minutes.
Aside from Iheanacho, only City teammate, Sergio Aguero, and Liverpool striker, Daniel Sturridge, are from the Barclays Premier League inside the top 20.
This makes him a better finisher than the very best in England such as Aguero, Sturridge, Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy and Diego Costa.
Aguero’s minute-to-goal ratio of 112.89 places him 13th while Sturridge is 16th with 121.73.
Last month, another stat crowned the left-footed striker as the best converter at the Etihad.
With a shot conversion rate of 42.86, the youngster was rated above Aguero (22.54), Kevin de Bruyne (19.23) and Yaya Toure (12.54) as the Citizens’ smartest finisher.
Real Madrid visit the Etihad for the first leg of City’s first ever Champions League semi-final on Tuesday, offering Iheanacho the chance to challenge himself against the likes of Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale.
