Former Chicken Republic security guards Matthew Precious Kelechi and Amakor Johnson have said they have no plans to return to Nigeria following Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere’s plan to have them back from Cyprus.
The former guards, known together as Happie Boys, have been in the news for suggesting that Chinyere, founder of the Omega Power Ministries (OPM) in Port Harcourt, abandoned them after sending them on scholarship to Cyprus.
Chinyere said he could not keep up with the scholarship because of the rise in the price of the US dollar but can afford scholarships in any university in Nigeria and Benin Republic.
Reacting to Chinyere’s plan to return them to Nigeria, the Happie Boys said in a video posted on Instagram on Thursday night that they are not willing to return to Nigeria.
Speaking in Pidgin English, they also said they would not be needing further support from Chinyere, adding that they will fend for themselves in Cyprus.
They said, “Na papa OPM make us know Cyprus. That man try. E no easy to carry person from Nigeria come Cyprus. God go bless am. And if we still reach Nigeria we go go him house thank am well well.
“Them no tell us about the flight tickets wey dem book. For me I no dey come back Nigeria. Him no tell us or text before him buy the flight tickets. We are really grateful, him fit use am help people. We no need scholarship in Nigeria. We no need OPM Happie Boys scholarship again, we no need tithe and offering again. We just wan apologise to am make him forgive us for wetin we do but we are not coming back. We go know as we go take do ourselves.”
