Actor Sylvester Madu has allegedly been spotted in Enugu State selling fairly-used clothes known locally as Okrika.
Fairly-used clothes in Nigeria were named after a small harbour city in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.
The actor, who has been absent from movie scenes for a while, was seen in a viral video published on Friday selling Okrika clothes scattered on the floor.
The clip also showed when he arrived at the market in his car and brought out a ‘Ghana-must-go’ bag which contained the clothes.
Sylvester has been off Instagram since March. His last post on the photo app was on March 28 where he asked his followers to subscribe to his YouTube channel Sylvester Madu TV.
The viral clip has since elicited different reactions from social media users, with many expressing concern over the financial state of the movie star.
Several fans flooded his last post to ask about his well-being.
One Instagram user known as Tina_sucre wrote: “Are you the one selling Okirika or someone that looks like you.”
Teetosingine_collections wrote: “I just hope everything is alright. I hope life is treating you well enough because the video I saw weak me.”
Another Instagram user Zobenchy alleged it was a publicity stunt. She said: “Good publicity stunt, thanks for refreshing our mind with your artistry and creativity. Have missed seeing you on the big screen. Hope pretty soon. Take care.”
