Inspector-general of police (IGP) Olukayode Egbetokun on Thursday decorated Frank Mba as deputy inspector-general of police and other newly promoted senior police officers.
They were decorated with their new ranks at the Goodluck Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Present at the ceremony were Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma; Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Akon Etim; Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; and other members of the National Assembly.
Others present were the former IGP Usman Baba (retd); defence attaches to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China; force management team; serving and retired senior police officers, families of promotees and other dignitaries.
A total of 38 senior police officers were decorated comprising deputy inspectors-general of police (DIGs) Bala Ciroma and Mba; 14 assistant inspectors-general of police including AIGs Abubakar Lawal; Alhassan Aminu (retd); Abdul Umar; Williams Adebowale; Shettima Zannah; Ebong Ebong; Adepoju Ilori; Okon Effiong; Echeng Echeng; Susan Horsefall; Bankole Sikiru; Oladimeji Olanrewaju; Odama Ojeka, and Shehu Gwarzo, as well as 22 commissioners of police.
Egbetokun, while congratulating the newly promoted officers, charged them to discharge the schedules of their new ranks within the dictates of the rule of law and citizens’ expectations.
