Actor Ali Nuhu has deleted an Instagram post where he condemned Afrobeat singer, Davido born David Adeleke, over a music video the latter shared online.

Davido posted the music video on his Twitter page last Friday to promote his signee Logos Olori.

The video, which several Muslims described as offensive, captured Logos Olori sitting on the roof of a mosque.

The video also showed some people posing as Muslims praying before suddenly launching into dancing.

Some Muslims, especially in northern Nigeria, found the video offensive and asked the music star to delete it and apologise for his action.

Ali, in reaction to the video in an Instagram post on July 23, said the singer should learn to respect other people’s religions, cultures and traditions.

The Kannywood star urged Davido to delete the video and apologise to the Muslim faithful for hurting them.

He wrote, “I just came across the controversial video by @Davido, as much we want to be creative in our various fields, we should learn to respect other people’s religion, culture and tradition.

“This is totally unacceptable in Islam. You should pull down that video and apologise for hurting the entire Muslim ummah.”

On his part, Ali deleted his earlier post condemning Davido.

In another post, the actor thanked the ‘OBO’ singer for deleting the video. He pleaded with everyone who felt offended by the video to “let love lead.”

He wrote, “Thank you for deleting that post @davido, to everyone who felt offended by his post please let sleeping dogs lie. Let love lead, I am̲ personally not against anyone but Please I am appealing to all my fans to desist from any dragging, abuse or insult. Thanks.”
