Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said that he and his family are “devastated” by the death of the founding pastor of Fountain of Life Church Taiwo Odukoya.
The cleric died on Monday in the United States. He was aged 67.
His death comes two years after his second wife Nomthi Odukoya, a South African, died after battling cancer for two years.
His first wife Pastor Bimbo Odukoya died in 2005 from injuries sustained in a plane crash.
In a social media post on Thursday, Osinbajo said Odukoya displayed firmness in his faith in the most difficult times.
He said, “@dolapoosinbajo, I, and our children are devastated by the news of the passing of our dear brother and friend @pastortaiwo. Our hearts and prayers are with Tolu, Jimi, Tobi, Timilehin, and Jomiloju.
“We will miss the firmness of his faith in the most difficult times, the soundness of his exposition of the scriptures, his fidelity to the true gospel of Jesus Christ, his childlike love of God translated so easily to Worship, his transparency, his servant leadership, the love and affection he showed so easily, his honesty, forthrightness and humility at all times.”

Osinbajo, who is also a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, noted that those whom Odukoya inspired as young men have grown to become grandparents still rooted in Jesus Christ.
“He inspired a whole generation of (then) very young men and women, many of whom are now grandparents and still in Christ, and will by His grace, be, until we meet him again at the resurrection, Amen,” he added.
