National president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Emeka Rollas on Friday attended the candlelight service of his colleague Obinna Nwafor, popularly known as Saint Obi.
The movie star died on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at the residence of one of his siblings at 13 Metropolitan Street, Tudun Wada, Jos.
He battled an undisclosed ailment and died at the age of 57.
The candlelight session was held in Lagos with a procession that started at the Oriental Hotel and ended at the Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island.
Actors Charles Okafor and Ifeoma Okeke among others were also present at the candlelight service.
Saint Obi’s burial will take place on August 18 in his birthplace of Umuezealaeze, Alaenyi Ogwa in Imo State.

Saint Obi came onto the acting scene in 1996 after doing a commercial for Peugeot on NTA and went on to feature in more than 100 movies.
He was born in 1965 in Port Harcourt city of Rivers State. His parents later moved to Jos where he had his early education.
Saint Obi graduated from the University of Jos after studying theatre arts. The movie star was known by several nicknames like James Bond of Nollywood, Saint of the Moviedom etc.
