Senior pastor and founder of the House of Freedom Tony Rapu has paid tributes to the late founding pastor of Fountain of Life Church Taiwo Odukoya.
Odukoya died on August 7, 2023 in the United States. He was aged 67. The cleric will be buried on September 9, 2023.
Rapu and his wife Nkoyo said in an Instagram post on Wednesday that Odukoya was a man with a heart of compassion.
He began his tribute by quoting Psalm 116:15, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.”
He further said, “Pastor Taiwo Daniel Odukoya, a giant of faith, has gone to be with the Lord.
“A courageous stalwart with unwavering faith and a visionary perspective to ministry, he dedicated his life to spreading the message and teachings of Jesus Christ globally. Pastor Odukoya was a great man with a heart of compassion. He was as selfless in community service as he was a tireless advocate for the poor and oppressed.
“Pastor Odukoya’s life was a testament to his impactful service to both God and humanity. His leadership was exceptional, leaving indelible imprints on the tapestry of time.”
Rapu noted that although Odukoya would be missed greatly all who knew him would take solace in the fact that he is resting in a better place.
He said, “While we grieve the loss of his physical presence, we draw solace from the understanding that he now resides with the Lord whom he loved so dearly and served so faithfully and diligently. Though his absence will be deeply felt, his legacy will endure through the lives he influenced over decades of unblemished service.
“Our thoughts and prayers are extended to his beloved family – his children Tolu, Jimi, Tobi, Jomiloju and Timilehin, the Fountain of Life Church family, and the body of Christ. Adieu, Servant of God.”
