President and group chief executive officer of Transnational Corporation Plc (Transcorp Group) Owen Omogiafo has led the new managing director and chief executive officer of Transcorp Power Peter Ikenga to the power plant in Ughelli, Delta State to introduce him to the team.
Mr Ikenga was the CEO of Transcorp Energy before his appointment at Transcorp Power to succeed Christopher Ezeafulukwe who was named MD/CEO of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).
“7-hour visit to our 972MW power plant in Ughelli, Delta State to formally introduce the new MD/CEO of @transcorppower, @peteruikenga to the team,” Mrs Omogiafo captioned her video posted on Thursday on Instagram.
The Transcorp boss noted that she had “an incredible time” with the team, engaging with the executive management team and new joiners. She said the experience culminated in a town hall with the wider staff.

“The highlight of my visit was meeting with our young university undergraduates, who are the pioneers of our Intern-X programme, which is a part of the @transcorpgroup youth empowerment program aimed at creating opportunities for mentorship and development for Nigerian students, outside the classroom.
“Shout out to the entire Ughelli team. Congrats Peter on your appointment. Looking forward to new records under your leadership,” she added.
Transcorp Group acquired the Ughelli plant during the privatisation of the power sector in 2013.
