A source in the Lagos State Police Command has said that socialite, Balogun Eletu, better known as Sam Larry, was arrested on arrival in Nigeria from Kenya on Thursday evening.
The police source, who did not want name mentioned as he was not authorised to speak on the matter, said Sam Larry was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
Sam Larry and a musician Naira Marley have been at the centre of public outrage over the death of singer Oladimeji Aloba aka Mohbad.
“Sam Larry was arrested at the airport after he arrived from Kenya. Our officers arrested him at the airport and he was immediately taken to the state police headquarters for questioning,” the source told PUNCH.

Videos of the socialite and music promoter allegedly assaulting Mohbad surfaced on social media after the latter’s death.
In his defence, Sam Larry posted a video on social media where he denied involvement in Mohbad’s death, insisting that he loved Mohbad while he was alive.
Mohbad died aged 27 on Tuesday, September 12 under controversial circumstances.
The police exhumed his corpse on Thursday, September 21 and carried out an autopsy to determine the cause of his death.
The Lagos State Judiciary has also announced a coroner’s inquest, due to commence on Friday, September 29, into the matter, at the instance of a human rights lawyer, Femi Falana.
