Comedian Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has apologised to his colleagues in the comedy industry.
The 45-year-old pleaded for forgiveness in a video posted on social media on Monday.
“To all the people in the industry and beyond that I have offended over time knowingly or unknowingly, l say this to you right now from the bottom of my heart. I am genuinely sorry. Please forgive me. To the people who have accused me of doing things that affected their career in one way or the other, I’m not going to accept or deny these allegations, God knows the truth. But regardless, please forgive me I beg you from the bottom of my heart,” he said.
Basketmouth also apologised specifically to AY Makun, saying he wants them to live in peace and harmony.
“To my guy AY, I don’t know if my apology is still valid right now but if it is, please forgive me for whatever I have done or said in the past that affected you in any way. Please forgive me. And I want you to know that I have forgiven you for whatever you did or said knowingly or unknowingly, it’s gone. I just want us to live in peace and harmony,” he said.

In an interview with Chude Jideonwo on Sunday, March 26, AY recounted an issue with Basketmouth in 2006 when he was not paid for a show he filled in for the latter as the cause of their 17-year misunderstanding.
Comedian Destalker also spoke on his feud with Basketmouth during an episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast on Tuesday, September 5, saying the latter struck his name out for proposals due to a disagreement over casting for the TV series My Flatmates.
