A pastor of Dunamis Church in the North Bank area of Makurdi, Benue State capital died on Tuesday when the church collapsed on him and four of his colleagues.
Commissioner of police in Benue Bartholomew Onyeka told reporters in Makurdi that Pastor Emmanuel Baba and the four others were praying when the accident occurred.
Onyeka said, “One person died in the North Bank building collapse.”

He said the four other pastors were responding to treatment at the hospital.
The church collapsed at about 2 a.m. and killed the senior pastor, leaving the four other pastors seriously injured.
Residents said the deceased hailed from the eastern part of Kogi State and was married to an Akwa Ibom woman.
