Funke Kuti, ex-wife of Afrobeat star Femi Kuti, on Tuesday posted a video of dancer Yeni Kuti, dancing at the 15th edition of Felabration.
Felabration is an annual music festival conceived in 1998 by Yeni Kuti in memory and celebration of her father Fela, a Nigerian musician and human rights activist known for pioneering the Afrobeat genre of music.
In the video posted on Instagram, a happy Yeni is seen showing off her dance moves backstage at the opening ceremony of the annual event.
Yeni, who is an older sister to Femi Kuti, has been making a series of posts on Instagram, announcing the event. In one of the posts, the Your View co-host paid tribute to Fela Kuti.
“Felabration is here again. I am sitting at @freedomparklagos looking at pictures of Fela, marveling that this revered man was my father, knowing that I was so close to him. Knowing he was so talented, realizing his value but not realizing his impact on us all.

“He impacted our lives. He was my father. You know how we all look at our parents. They are ours. We don’t always know their value. I DID know my parent’s value, just can’t get over how valuable Fela is, was and has become. My heart swells with pride. I cry tears of joy and pain cos Mummy and Fela I MISS YOU SO MUCH. Happy Felabration! Please note that Fela never let us call him daddy,” she wrote.
