The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) has bent to the will of the Presidency, acknowledging Tola Odeyemi as the new postmaster general (PMG) and chief executive officer.
Earlier on Monday, NIPOST staff shut down the head office, protesting her appointment.
Some of the protesting workers, who spoke with NAN on the condition of anonymity, said Odeyemi was appointed against their wish and as such could not be allowed to assume her new role.
They called on President Bola Tinubu to reverse her appointment and reinstate Sunday Adepoju who was in charge of NIPOST before her appointment.
