Actor Zack Orji has endorsed Imo state governor Hope Uzodimma for a second term.
A video of the actor urging the people of Imo state to vote for Uzodimma and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been circulating on social media since Monday.
In the video, Zack, who spoke partly in Igbo said Uzodimma should be voted in come November 11 governorship election because he is “a man with an uncommon hunger and passion for the progress of Imo state and the well-being of every Imi citizen.”
“Vote Senator Hope Uzodimma as the next governor of Imo state, let the good works continue, let the progress continue. Thank you, God bless Imo state,” he concluded.
Zack came under heavy criticism last year, after declaring his support for the then APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu who was declared winner of the 2023 presidential election.
While the 63-year-old threw his weight behind Tinubu, his wife actress Ngozi Orji, however, drummed support for Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
Ngozi Orji endorsed Obi in an Instagram post on a Sunday, after the latter visited the Revival Church Assembly headed by Apostle Anselm Madubuko.
In the caption of the video she posted, the actress declared herself “Obidient,” a title associated with supporters of the former Anambra State governor.

Zack, alongside Saidi Balogun, Foluke Daramola, Benedict Johnson and Gentle Jack, paid a visit to Tinubu in September 2022 while the latter was still a presidential candidate.
During the visit, the former governor of Lagos State said the highly productive talents of filmmakers and actors must yield bountiful benefits for them and Nigeria.
Zack Orji’s endorsement of Hope Uzodimma came hours after it was reported that actress Tonto Dikeh has officially joined the All Progressives Congress.
Photos from the unveiling were shared via the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, confirming that the actress is now a member of the party.
The 37-year-old was unveiled by the APC national women leader, Dr Mary Alile and the deputy national public secretary Duro Mesdeko at the party’s headquarters in Abuja on Monday.
