Actor John Okafor, better known as Mr Ibu, has undergone two successful major surgeries.
His adopted daughter Jazmine Okafor disclosed this in an Instagram post on Tuesday morning.
Jazmine who seemed excited over the latest update about her father’s medical condition, pointed out that Mr Ibu tried to crack jokes like nothing happened.
She added that this is the strongest she has seen him in three weeks.
“Never seen anyone so strong… even after two major surgeries, you were still trying to be funny like nothing happened, even in your lowest you still cracked jokes! I promise you, if there’s a God in heaven, you are getting out of this bed, stronger and alive. This is the strongest I have seen you in 3 weeks and I’m so excited! Fight this and get well soon, sweet papa,” she wrote.

The movie star celebrated his 63rd birthday in an undisclosed hospital in Lagos on Tuesday last week.
He revealed in a video posted on Instagram on Wednesday that he needed financial support so his leg would not be amputated.
“I have been down for so many weeks, all I’m hoping for is your prayers and assistance. I’ve been in the hospital, as I speak to you, I’m still lying down in the hospital.
“The medical director says in case his new idea didn’t work, the best idea is to cut off my leg, just see me, if they cut off my leg where will I go to? Please be on prayers for me, talk to God Almighty, I don’t want my leg to be cut off. God bless you,” he said in parts.
On October 21, it was reported that the Bukola Saraki Foundation had paid the medical bills of ailing actor. This happened after Ibu’s wife Stella Maris put up a video, claiming that the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) lied about helping her husband, the statement was immediately debunked by the guild’s director of communications Kate Henshaw who insisted that the guild has been supporting Mr Ibu.
