Chef Hilda Baci has congratulated Irish counterpart Alan Fisher on breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual previously held by her.
Hilda set her record of 93 hours and 11 minutes in May, preparing over 100 pots of food during her four-day kitchen stint. She broke the record of 87 hours and 45 minutes set in 2019 by Indian chef Lata Tondon.
The GWR said on Tuesday that Fisher, a restaurant owner based in Japan, now holds the record for the longest cooking marathon.
Reacting to the news, Hilda wrote on X: “Huge congratulations to Alan Fisher! 119hrs 57mins is a huge achievement, and I wish him all the best as the new world record holder! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾”
Hilda said she would forever be grateful to have held the record.
“I’m so happy to have held a record so prestigious and profound I will forever be honored and grateful for all the love and support,” she wrote.

Fisher had difficulty staying afloat when lockdowns and restrictions were introduced due to COVID-19.
In order to channel his frustration and negativity into something positive, he decided to take on the record-breaking journey himself.
“Lata and Hilda’s achievements served as an inspiration,” he said.
