Child saxophonist Oreofe Balogun, better known as Oreofe Sax, has arrived in Switzerland for the annual general meeting (AGM) of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) Europe.
Oreofe sax, 11, is the guest artist at the AGM and business summit scheduled to be held in Zurich, Switzerland from November 9 to 13, 2023.
Guest speakers at the event are the director-general of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
The NIDCOM boss announced Oreofe’s arrival in Switzerland via Instagram on Friday with a video shot when the saxophonist attended NIDCOM’S Diaspora Day event in Abuja back in July.
“Remember Ore Ofe Sax? The talented 11-year-old sax player who performed at our last Diaspora Day? She has arrived in Switzerland to perform at the annual Agm of Nido Europe starting today. Thanks to the Nido Swiss President who spotted her at the Diaspora Day event in Abuja in July and invited her over. Thank you, Mr Odibo. I’m sure she will be stunning as always,” she wrote.
On Thursday, the young instrumentalist shared a video on Instagram of herself playing the sax in a country believed to be Switzerland.
“This Cold don affect my Saxophone and my mouth o,” she captioned her post.
