The ongoing two-day-old workers’ strike has stalled the coroner’s inquest into the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known professionally as Mohbad.
The last sitting of the coroner was adjourned until Wednesday to determine the cause of death of the 27-year-old singer.
However, security officials at the court refused magistrates and judiciary staff entry into the building to continue the inquest on Wednesday.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, a court official who wanted to remain anonymous said the courtroom was not open as there was full compliance with the strike called by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress(TUC).
The two unions declared the nationwide strike to protest the assault of Joe Ajaero, NLC president, by hoodlums in Owerri earlier.
Meanwhile, the National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu has said that some persons have been arrested over the November 1 attack on the national president of Nigeria Labour Congress Joe Ajaero.
