Gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has shared a funny video of herself after childbirth requesting hot pepper soup.
The mother of one shared a video of herself via Instagram on Sunday, narrating how she was served pizza and carrots after childbirth at the hospital where she put to bed.
“Them say na pizza and carrot o, first meal after birth, abeg bring my garri and soup come abeg, they even bring cake o! Make I top am with cake,” Mercy said in the video.
“First meal after childbirth. Abeg where una keep hot pepper soup? Na hot pepper soup sure pass o, I don’t play with my Naija food o no matter the condition.”
Reacting in the comment section of the post, another gospel singer Rejoice Iwueze also narrated her own experience saying, “I studied the food they served me for close to 20 mins and still couldn’t understand. Like why oh why will you give me that? How will you serve me something that looks like pap but it’s not pap. Ndi a sef. I sha chop am like.”
Mercy Chinwo’s godmother and fellow gospel singer Chioma Jesus also commented saying, “I almost died of laughter the day you been Dey complain.”
Mercy Chinwo announced her return to Nigeria on Thursday one month after welcoming her first child.
She shared a video of herself, her husband Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, Chioma Jesus and a few friends and family members at the airport, welcoming her and her baby to Nigeria.
In the video shared via Instagram Mercy, her husband and others took part in the popular “I’m not the Bride” challenge, with their baby as the centre of attention.
The challenge started with a man who identified himself as the baby’s uncle, followed by two family friends, then the child’s godmother and Chioma Jesus who called herself the baby’s godmother.
Mercy then followed suit and her husband who was carrying the baby joined in.
The video was captioned with several love emojis and happy faces.

Mercy has been posting several behind-the-scenes photos and clips from her latest music video ‘You Do This One’ dedicated to her baby as well as videos of TikTokers and followers joining her ‘You Do This One’ challenge.
The singer dropped the music video on October 27, the same day she announced the birth of her child with her husband.
The 32-year-old also posted photos of her maternity shoot, showing her baby bump and pictures from their baby’s ultrasound.
She wrote: “Our heart is filled with Joy and gratitude Did you notice the subtle gender reveal from the “YOU DO THIS ONE” video currently showing on my YouTube channel? (Mercy Chinwo official).”
The music video has since then gotten over one million views on YouTube.
