Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has felicitated his predecessor and minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike on his 56th birthday.
In a message posted on X on Wednesday, the governor again referred to Wike as his “oga”, a local parlance for boss.
“Your Excellency, my dear wife and I, and the good people of Rivers State, join your family and friends to felicitate you on this day,” part of his message read.
Rivers gov Fubara storms assembly, protests plots to impeach him
Fubara and Wike are locked in a clash of titans. The minister once said the political crisis in the state was due to alleged attempts to pull down what he described as his structure and political relevance in the state.
On Monday, 27 state lawmakers loyal to Wike defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Observers say the move might be to prepare grounds for Wike’s defection to the APC as well as Fubara’s possible impeachment.
