The police in Ogun State have confirmed that one of their men shot and wounded actor and movie producer Azeez Ijaduade at a movie location.
Actor Abiodun Adebanjo had raised an alarm early on Sunday alerting the public that Ijaduade had been shot by a policeman in Iperu, Ogun State.
“Please we need help in Iperu. My director, Azeez Ijaduade, @kingzeez1, was shot by Nigerian police personnel.
“He is presently at Babcock University Teaching Hospital.
“Anybody with the contacts of the Police IG or Commissioner should reach out,” Adebanjo wrote.
Confirming the incident in a chat with PUNCH Online, Ogun State police public relations officer Omolola Odutola said an officer attached to the executives of Bramajaj Company Limited, Ogere Remo “accidentally discharged a shot from his rifle” and it hit the actor in the neck.
Bramajaj was holding its end-of-year party at the same hotel in Iperu where Ijaduade and his crew were shooting a movie when the accident happened.
Odutola added that the actor was rushed to the hospital and “the victim is currently in a stable condition.”
