Lead pastor at the House on the Rock Church Paul Adefarasin has expressed sorrow over the death of Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, noting that his contributions to the state are indelible.
Akeredolu, according to the state government, died on Wednesday of prostate cancer. He was aged 67.
Adefarasin said in an Instagram post that although the governor’s time has come to an end, his spirit of resilience remains a beacon of light.
“It is with deep reflection and mixed feelings between a saddened heart because of our loss and a gladdened spirit that Arakurin has entered glory that we acknowledge the passing of H.E. Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu CON SAN,” he wrote.

“As a distinguished leader and legal luminary, Governor Akeredolu’s indelible contributions to Ondo State and his resolute leadership as the chairman of the Southwest Governors’ Forum have left an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire generations. Though his journey on earth has ended, his spirit of resilience and community service remains a beacon of light.”
To Akeredolu’s widow Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu and his children, Adefarasin said, “Words fall short of expressing our thoughts and prayers regarding your loss. We know that no amount of solace can fill the void created by Egbon Oluwarotimi’s departure, but we hope you find some comfort in the outpouring of love and prayers enveloping you all at this time…
“As we mourn his departure, let us also hold fast to the promise of eternal life and the hope that in God’s kingdom, we shall meet again. May God’s unfailing love be your comfort and His word, a lamp to guide you through these challenging times. Kindly accept our condolences.”
