The Department of State Services (DSS) has said it did not arrest any former or present official of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
There were reports that a former deputy governor of the CBN who was in charge of financial system stability, Aisha Ahmad, was arrested by the DSS.
Ahmad was said to have been arrested and detained by the DSS over the alleged fraudulent acquisition of shares in Polaris Bank and Titan Bank/Union Bank.

The DSS refuted the report in a statement on its X handle on Thursday night.
“The DSS did not, in the last 48 hours, arrest any former or present official of the CBN,” the statement read.
