Musician 2Baba has penned a message to his friend and colleague the late Sound Sultan.
The 48-year-old in an Instagram post on Sunday told Sound Sultan that their dream and wish for Nigerian and African music has come to pass.
2Baba who is also known as 2Face joked about being an upcoming artiste.
He wrote: “YO Lanre like play like play we don enter 2024 Plenty story for ground. That our dream and wish for NAIJA/AFRICA music take over and respect don come true o, I don even turn to upcoming artist again lai dis. But we no go gree MUTIJU.”
During an interview with podcaster Adesope in August 2023, 2Baba said the cancer diagnosis for Sound Sultan was late and that they thought he was suffering from malaria.
Sound Sultan died on July 11, 2021, aged 44. He suffered from Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, also known as cancer of the throat.
